Austin CItyUP Consortium was hard at work in 2017, our first full year. We secured our first funding, an award for an affordable housing database development project. We started several other collaborative projects that are in design phases, applied for project grants, and laid a strong foundation for achieving our ultimate vision of a comprehensive, integrated, inclusive, sustainable and evolving smart city infrastructure in Austin.
To start, in the coming weeks. we'll be updating our web site starting with our home page, to have more useful, fresh, and dynamic content. We have added a “news/blog" area on the web site (welcome!) to share updates on our progress and posts from Austin CityUP members and other thought leaders in the days, weeks, and months ahead. We appreciate that many of our members are joining us from other cities, so the Austin CityUP event page will share not only Austin CityUP events, but also relevant smart city conferences, talks, workshops and events throughout Austin and in other cities.
We will also ramp up our usage of social media this year to ensure we share our progress and other smart cities efforts with more people. You can follow us on Twitter (@austincityup) and Facebook (Austin City Up). We're looking forward to launching an interactive group on LinkedIn as well - we'll post those details here soon.
As we improve our communications, we invite you to share your events, news, and insights with us via our blog, our social media, or via email to email@example.com. We'd love to amplify your smart city messages.
We appreciate you for following us and supporting us in the past, and for being interested in smart cities. Thanks to our committed members, board, and volunteers, we know 2018 will be the year we begin to see proof of the value of smart cities approaches here in Austin, and become one of the leading smart cities efforts in the nation. We look forward to sharing the journey with you.
